Basics: Digital Video Editing
Most home computers will be fine for short clips, if you have a P4 CPU and a large hard drive and reasonalbe video card you can do wonders. Of course long video and film should go to a professional service provider.
Windows XP includes an entry level "Movie Maker" program which is ideal for making a short clip to attach to your e-mails, or just assembling small clips to burn a DVD at home. If you keep it small it should not take too long to produce a DVD of a few minutes duration, longer programs will take a very long time on home PC's and you may find it takes many hours to create a DDVD as the home PC is just not going to cut it with large files, start before you retire for the night and your DVD mght be ready for breakfast.
